In this post I’m going to talk about my absolute favorite of all social marketing tools currently on the market. Why is it my favourite you might ask? Well, it's a tool that can help raise brand awareness, help you sell more units of products, or simply increase the number of friends that you have in your Twitter network.
This is a tool that’s going to be useful across the board, whether you are a non-profit looking to develop an advanced and aggressive fund-raising strategy, or you’re an internet marketer looking to monetize the immediacy of Twitter conversations by sending users through to your CPA’s. It’s even great for generic style travel and tourism categories.
It's a tool that is updated frequently and the team behind its development are also really responsive to feedback. I’ve had them make some small tweaks to the builds and this has resulted in a much better experience for me.
Last, it's cheap too (but read on first to learn why I think it's great value for money!)
How this tool can fit into your existing social media strategy:
People/Companies reading this review will probably have a sliding scale of resources available to invest in marketing on Twitter. Perhaps you’re a big brand with a limitless budget that can offset the cost of having a team responding to the tweets published in the Twitter-sphere in real time against under the budget line of "brand-awareness", but in these current times (at least in Europe and the US) it’s unlikely!!
If you manage Twitter account activity yourself then you’re probably already using something like Tweet-Deck to manage and organize your conversations and account(s). These tools are good for resource heavy involvement. But what Tweet attacks will do is perform a series of tasks automatically. These tasks can have a very very specific marketing function, and once they are setup, you just leave the tool on to run (for days or weeks).
Tweet Attacks, direct results when correctly implementation?
2-liner: Tweet Attacks is an advanced automation tool that when used effectively will bring you followers to your Twitter profile, and consequently visitors/awareness to any website that is linked to your profile on your Twitter page.
Best uses for Tweet Attacks?
First of all, it’s worth mentioning that Tweet Attacks comes with a wonderful instruction manual. Why is it wonderful? First, because no-one seems to write good instruction manuals anymore, and so this immediately stands out as a good one. It provides a complete overview of the functionality of the suite, coupled with solid examples of its strategic use. The focus of these strategies is on the classic CPA based affiliate style sale, but the instruction manual will allow you to leap across and apply the examples to your own web-based business. Just sleep on it. I learnt how to use Tweet Attacks primarily from this manual and running some tests on a few throw-away accounts.
Examples of what can be done when using Tweet Attacks correctly:
Start becoming friends with people that followed the Twitter profile of a direct competitor or a related brand, and that had followers that were a significant target for your own business.
Publish status updates to Twitter on a cycle (for example you might have a series of articles or offers for your business that you wish to publish every 10 days at intervals of every 24/48 hours). These Tweets can be loaded from an external text file and then set to a schedule.
Send direct messages to people that are following your own profile
Wait for people to start talking about something in Twitter, and then send them a message. An example might be someone talking about a very specific event, say the famous “Le Mans” race in France. With Tweet Attacks you would be able to scan Twitter in real-time, and the moment a person tweets “Le Mans”, you would be able to send a message reply. This message reply could contain a link, or just have a useful piece of information.
Utility function of information in social media channels is very important – people don’t expect to be bombarded with sales type offers in these channels, and to do so as a business owner, would be the most likely reason why you’re a social media strategy of this kind fails.
Weaknesses:
The weakness of this tool is that Twitter might change its system architecture and the developers of Tweet Attacks might not be able to adjust the software to take account of the changes. However, I can see from both my own experience, and the change log, that the program is so far well ahead of the game, and Twitter has been through some pretty massive changes over the past 6 months.
Strengths:
- Software updated regularly and comes with a friendly support service
- Every process or task in Tweet Attacks can be set according to a specific time schedule.
- Each Twitter account can be assigned its own private proxy, which means that you can protect your most important accounts by assigning them to dedicated proxies or your actual IP.
- The licence will allow you to open multiple instances of Tweet Attacks on the same computer. This means that you can have one instance running a Follow/Unfollow campaign, another running a Wait and Reply Campaign, and another running a Twitter Posting Schedule campaign.
- Using this tool on a daily basis I can say without question that with this tool it is possible to setup campaigns inside the various modules of the tool, and then just leave them on for weeks.
- If you’re familiar with some of the black-hat style ways of obfuscating and getting around same sentence phrases using the Jet Spinner syntax, you’ll be happy knowing that Tweet Attacks supports multiple and nested level spins for any message that you post using the software suite.
Final Thoughts
If you are able to use Tweet Attacks, and if you read the manual and don’t just buy, install and run the program from the outset, you will see that it is a powerhouse of functionality that can be used in a positive and non-spammy way to increase brand awareness, connect with new publics and augment your presence in the Twitter social media network.
